It is sodium chloride cold mineral water (hypertonic, neutral, cold mineral spring) from Echigo Nagano Hot Spring (Shitada hot spring area). The source temperature is approximately 16°C and is heated before use. With very high salt concentration, it qualifies as "therapeutic spring water" and was once sold as medicine. It is effective for cuts, burns, cold sensitivity, neuralgia, and women's health issues.

About 40 minutes by bus (Yagigahana Hot Spring Line) from JR Shinetsu Line Higashi-Sanjo Station, then about 30 minutes on foot. About 40 minutes by taxi from JR Joetsu Shinkansen Tsubame-Sanjo Station. About 45 minutes via Route 289 from Sanjo-Tsubame Interchange on the Hokuriku Expressway.

Yes, there are two private open-air baths called "Ishiyu" and "Fukaiyu" in the "Yamayu" section. Ishiyu features a charming design made from stacked round stones, while Fukaiyu is approximately 130 cm deep and allows you to enjoy a unique floating sensation while standing. Guests can use them free of charge (approximately 16:00–22:00).

The main building "Ryokufukan" is a three-story wooden structure originally built around 1933 (Showa 8) as a restaurant in front of Tsubame Station and relocated to its current location around 1965 (Showa 30). It is designated as a National Register of Tangible Cultural Properties and preserves the nostalgic atmosphere of a Showa-era inn.

We are a member inn of the "Japan Secret Hot Spring Association." If you have a stamp book, we can stamp it for you. When you collect 10 stamps, you receive one free night stay (based on the association's regulations).
Are there sightseeing spots nearby?
Yagi-ga-hana (a scenic spot with 200-meter rock cliffs), Momonkai mountain climbing, and the terraced rice paddies in the Shimoda district offer abundant natural scenery. Toward Tsubame-Sanjo Station, there are also manufacturing experience facilities in Tsubame-Sanjo.
