What is the route by car?
About 30-40 minutes from Kyotango-Omiya IC on the San-in Kinki Expressway.
How do I get there by train?
About 5 minutes' walk from Yuhigaura-Kitsuonsen Station on the Kyoto Tango Railway. A pick-up is also available, so please call us when you arrive.

Is there a benefit to booking by telephone?
Booking directly by telephone brings a cashback of 1,000 yen per adult, so a party of four saves 4,000 yen (500 yen for stays from April to October; room-only and no-breakfast plans are excluded).

What room types are there?
It is a calm single-storey inn looking onto a Japanese garden, which every room overlooks. We are a small hot spring inn taking only four parties a day.

What are the qualities and benefits of Kitsu Onsen?
It is the oldest hot spring in Kyoto, said to have been discovered by the monk Gyoki in the Nara period. It is a simple alkaline spring with a light feel on the skin and is very good for the complexion, also known as Shirasagi Onsen. It is held to help with neuralgia, rheumatism, muscle pain, back pain, women's complaints and skin conditions.
Is the bath private? Is there a bathing hall?
Our hot spring is used privately, so you can take your time over water fed at 100 per cent from the source with your family or friends. We take bookings for bathing times at check-in.

Are there beaches or sights nearby?
Yuhigaura beach (Hamazume beach) is about 5 minutes away by car, a beautiful stretch of sand facing the Sea of Japan where you can swim and watch the sunset. Swimming in summer and crab in winter make for something in every season.

What crab plans are there?
In winter our speciality is a full crab course, with three crabs per person as the standard plan. There are also single-crab courses from around 10,000 yen. Booking by telephone brings a 1,000 yen cashback per adult (excluding some plans).
What food is served from April to October, outside the crab season?
From spring to autumn we serve kaiseki courses using fresh seafood from the Tango region. There is a good range of plans without crab; please see the official website or call us.
