How do I get there?
From JR Tsuyama Station, take a bus bound for Ishikoshi for approximately 60 minutes and get off at "Okutsu Onsen". By car, it's about 25 minutes from Inshōji IC on the Chūgoku Expressway, or about 100 minutes from Okayama Station via Route 53 and 179. The route via Inshōji is relatively easier to drive.

What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in for overnight stays is 15:00 and check-out is 10:00. Day-use bathing is available from 10:45–14:30 (last admission 14:00).

How do I make a reservation?
Online booking through the official website (okutsuso.com) offers the most affordable rates. Telephone reservations (0868-52-0021, 9:00–21:00) are also accepted.

Can children and families stay here?
Family stays are possible. However, the Kagi-yu and Tatsu-yu baths use exposed bedrock from the riverbed, so the footing is unstable. For small children or guests with mobility concerns, we recommend the private baths "Izumi-no-yu" and "Kawa-no-yu".

How many types of baths are available?
There are 4 bathhouses: Kagi-yu, Tatsu-yu, Izumi-no-yu, and Kawa-no-yu. Overnight guests can use them 24 hours. All use the same hot spring water.
What is the hot spring water quality like?
The water is characterised by a silky, gentle, and soft quality. The natural spring bubbles up directly from the bottom of the bath without heating or circulation, offering premium hot spring bathing.
What is "Kagi-yu", the footspring bath?
It is a bath that uses the natural granite formations carved by the Yoshii River over many years as the bath floor itself. Hot spring water naturally wells up from the bottom of the tub—a rare type where you can feel the natural rocky riverbed while bathing. However, the bottom is uneven, so guests with mobility difficulties can use the flat-bottomed private baths "Izumi-no-yu" or "Kawa-no-yu".
