Free shuttle service is available from JR Lake West Line Ogoto Onsen Station, Hieizansakamoto Station, and Keihan Electric Railway Sakamoto-Hieizanguchi Station (reservation required; please inform us of your station arrival time). Ogoto Onsen Station is about 20 minutes from Kyoto Station on the Lake West Line.

Yes, Lake Biwa can be viewed from all rooms. From our location on a hilltop in Ogoto, you can see Lake Biwa, Ōtsu Harbor, and Lake Biwa Bridge all at once.

What is the hot spring water quality and what types of baths are available?
The water is alkaline simple hot spring with pH 9.0, known as Ogoto's "beautiful skin bath." There is a large public bath ("Haikara no Yu" and a spacious high-ceilinged bath) and an outdoor bath. Guests on the 5th floor premium floor can enjoy their room's private open-air hot spring bath 24 hours a day.

What are the nearby tourist attractions?
Enryaku-ji Temple on Mt. Hiei (a UNESCO World Heritage site) is nearby, offering historic sightseeing. Train access to central Kyoto is convenient (Ogoto Onsen Station to Kyoto Station about 20 minutes), making it an ideal base for sightseeing. Shirahige Shrine and Lake Biwa Bridge are also popular spots.

What is the meal like?
We serve Hanakaidō's original kaiseki cuisine based on Kyoto kaiseki and featuring seasonal ingredients and Ōmi specialties. We focus on Shiga Prefecture ingredients including Ōmi beef, Lake Biwa fish, and mountain produce from Mt. Hiei and the Suzuka range. Dining at the private kaiseki restaurant "Hana Yūzen" (paid) is also available for both dinner and breakfast (advance consultation required).
