Is there a shuttle from the nearest station?
A shuttle bus runs from Sakakibara-Onsenguchi Station on the Kintetsu Osaka Line (booking required). By taxi it is about 10 minutes.

When was the inn founded?
It was founded in the Taisho era, around 1919, and marked its centenary in 2019. For more than a century it has looked after the source water of Sakakibara Onsen.

Can I use the hot spring for a day visit?
Yes, day-use bathing is available 9:00-20:00 (last reception 19:00), at 1,000 yen for adults and 500 yen for children (age 3 to sixth grade). A bathing towel is included, and stays are limited to two hours.

You say the water flows continuously from the source. What are its qualities?
We are the only inn at Sakakibara Onsen using water straight from the source. It is an alkaline simple spring, colourless and clear, known as a beauty bath that leaves the skin smooth. Day-use bathing (9:00-20:00, last reception 19:00) is available at 1,000 yen for adults.

How easy is it to reach Ise Jingu and other sights?
About 20 minutes from Hisai IC on the Ise Expressway, about 60 minutes by car to Ise Jingu, and about 40 minutes from Ueno-Higashi IC on the Meihan National Road.

What is the speciality dish of steamed hot spring vegetables?
It is an original dish at the centre of our dinner kaiseki, built around beauty and health: vegetables steamed in the vapour of the hot spring. It is highly regarded as a wholesome dish made with local produce.
