How many rooms are there, and what are they like?
The inn has 20 rooms, every one with its own open-air bath fed from the source and looking out over the forest. The rooms are arranged along a covered walkway for a strong sense of privacy.

What is the difference between Gora Hanaogi main building and Madoka no Mori?
Both are inns of the Gora Hanaogi group, but Madoka no Mori is a separate property where all 20 rooms have an open-air bath. The addresses differ too: the main building is at Gora 1300-681 and Madoka no Mori at Gora 1320-862.
What changed in the 2017 renovation?
The inn reopened after a full renovation on 4 August 2017, with the hot spring facilities, the rooms and the dining room all renewed. Two kinds of hot spring water, from the Owakudani and Gora sources, became available.
