What sightseeing spots are nearby?
From Hirayu Bus Terminal it is easy to reach Kamikochi (about 25 minutes by bus) and Norikura (about an hour by bus). The Okuhida Bear Park is about 10 minutes away by car, and natural attractions such as the Hirayu Great Falls are also nearby.
Is it easy to reach Kamikochi and Norikura?
From Hirayu Onsen Bus Terminal, about 5 minutes' walk from the inn, it is about 25 minutes by bus to Kamikochi and about an hour to Norikura, making this a very convenient base.

What is the building like?
It is built in the style of a traditional old house, for a stay away from everyday life. You can take your time in simple surroundings that blend into the mountain village of Okuhida.

What are the qualities of Hirayu Onsen?
Hirayu Onsen has the longest history in the Okuhida hot spring villages, with about 40 sources in the area. The iron-rich water is known for warming you thoroughly and is said to help with fatigue, neuralgia and poor circulation.
What is the private bath attached to the room?
It is a private bath for your room alone, generously supplied with water from Yunohira-no-Yu, the communal source long treasured at Hirayu Onsen. You can use it whenever you like, 24 hours a day.
What are the large communal bath and open-air bath like?
There is an iron-rich indoor bath that warms you thoroughly, and an atmospheric open-air bath where you feel the breath of the natural world. You can bathe at leisure in the quiet of the mountain village.
