Wi-Fi is available throughout the facility. You can also use it in the ryokan guest rooms.

What amenities are provided in the inn rooms?
Basic amenities in the inn include yukata, bath towels, face towels, toothbrush, razor, shower cap, and hair dryer. All rooms are equipped with TV, washbasin, and toilet with bidet.

When is the cancellation fee charged?
For individual guests: 100% cancellation fee on the day, 50% one day before, and 30% 2–5 days before. For groups of 8 or more, please inquire.

What accessibility accommodations are available?
The inn is located at the deepest point of Nyuto Onsen area. From the car park, you walk down a slope for about 50m to reach the inn. There are steps and uneven ground along the way, so please note that guests using wheelchairs or with mobility difficulties should be careful.

Is smoking allowed?
The entire facility is non-smoking under the Akita Prefecture Passive Smoking Prevention Ordinance. An outdoor smoking area is provided for guest use.

What are the operating seasons?
The inn and hot spring facilities operate seasonally from mid-April to early November. In 2025, operations resume from April 15. The self-catering section operates from late April to the end of October.

How do I get there?
From Akita Shinkansen / JR Tazawa Lake Station, take the Ugo Transport bus bound for Nyuto Onsen area for about 50 minutes, get off at the terminal "Nyuto Kaniba Onsen" (shuttle available on request). By taxi from Tazawa Lake Station: about 40 minutes, approximately 8,000 yen. By car from Tohoku Expressway Morioka IC: about 5 hours 50 minutes (from Tokyo direction); from Akita city via Routes 13, 46, and 341: about 1 hour 40 minutes. From Akita Airport, use the Airport Liner Nyuto service (6,700 yen per person, advance reservation required). Turn right before Kyukakomura Nyuto Onsen and follow the beech forest road for 1.3 km to the parking lot. The facility is about 50 m downhill on foot from the parking lot.

What is the room charge for children (primary school age)?
If ordering the same dinner menu as adults, 80% of the room rate; if ordering a children's menu dinner, 70%. For infants: children's menu dinner with bedding is ¥11,000, with bedding but no dinner is ¥3,300, without dinner or bedding is free. Without bedding but with children's menu dinner is ¥7,700.

Are the baths only mixed-gender, or are there gender-separated options?
In addition to one mixed-gender indoor bath and one mixed-gender outdoor bath, we also have gender-separated indoor bath, outdoor bath, and waterfall shower (including one indoor bath in the ryokan section). Both have indoor and outdoor baths.
What are the hours for day-use bathing?
Thursday to Tuesday: 9:00–16:30 (last entry 16:00). Wednesday only: 9:00–11:00 (last entry 10:30). Hours may change on holidays. Rates are 800 yen for junior high school students and older, 400 yen for elementary school students.
Do you have private baths? How much do they cost?
We have two private baths (Kame no Yu and Tamagahada no Yu) with indoor baths and waterfall showers. They cost 2,750 yen per group for 45 minutes (plus bathing tax), and advance reservation at the front desk is required. Guests staying at the ryokan can use them free of charge.

How long is the walk from the bus stop to the inn?
From the "Kyūkamura-mae" bus stop on the Nyuto Onsen route, it is about a 25-minute walk through a beech forest. Guests can use a complimentary shuttle service between Kaniba Onsen bus stop and Kurogane Onsen car park (advance reservation required). From the car park to the inn is a 50m downhill slope.
Do you offer shuttle service from Tazawa Lake Station?
We do not have a free shuttle bus from the station. We recommend using the local bus (Ugo Transport, Nyuto Line). For guests staying overnight, we provide shuttle service between the bus terminal "Kaniba Onsen" and the "Kuroyu Onsen" parking area (advance reservation required; please inform us of your bus arrival time in advance).

What are the dining hall hours?
Dining hall is open 11:30–13:30 (last order 13:00). Closed on Wednesdays in principle. Shop and tearoom are open 7:00–20:00 (also open Wednesdays).
Is self-catering available? What facilities are provided?
Two self-catering buildings are available: a thatched self-catering lodge with an open hearth (three 8-mat rooms, from ¥7,850) and a two-storey self-catering lodge (six rooms of 6–8 mats, from ¥6,750). They operate late April to end of October. Facilities include cooking utensils, gas stove, refrigerator, microwave, and washing machine. Reservations are by phone only.
