The hotel is known as an inn associated with Izumo Taisha and good matches. The lobby displays a traditional straw crane and turtle that were once on show at Izumo Taisha itself.

What are the qualities and benefits of Tamatsukuri Onsen?
It is Japan's oldest hot spring area, praised as the bath of the gods in the Izumo no Kuni Fudoki. The gypsum and mirabilite (sulphate) water smooths the skin and is known to help with neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, poor circulation, chronic skin conditions and chronic women's complaints.

What kinds of baths are there?
We use natural hot spring water, a gypsum and mirabilite (sulphate) spring. There is the large bathing hall Giboshi-no-Yu with an open-air bath, which alternates between men and women, plus a private bath. Tamatsukuri Onsen, Japan's oldest hot spring area, is known for the effect of its water on the skin.

Is there a pick-up service?
There is a free shared shuttle from JR Tamatsukuri-Onsen Station or the Tamatsukuri highway bus stop to the hotel (about 10 minutes). No booking is needed; simply call the hotel when you arrive and we will be there in about 10 minutes.

For environmental reasons, rooms are given a light clean once every three days during a multi-night stay.

What food is served?
Our head chef prepares kaiseki cuisine using carefully selected San'in ingredients. Please note that we cannot accommodate allergies, for reasons of kitchen operation.
Can you cater for allergies?
As many different ingredients are used in the same kitchen, full allergy provision is difficult and we cannot change ingredients. We also do not provide menus or ingredient lists in advance. Please book with this in mind.
