How do I get to the Atsumi Peninsula?
About 80 minutes by car from Toyokawa IC on the Tomei Expressway towards Irago. By train the nearest station is Mikawa-Tahara on the Toyohashi Railroad, from where a paid pick-up service is available (800 yen one way, booking required).

What room types are there?
As well as the main building there are two annexes: Unjoro, added in 2005 with rooms with their own open-air bath, and the maisonette-style Suijoro, making three buildings in all.

How does it differ from Izutsuro?
Kakujoro comprises three buildings: the main building, the Unjoro annexe and the Suijoro annexe. Izutsuro became independent from Kakujoro's annexe in summer 2023 and is a sister inn of 8 rooms, about 3 minutes' walk away.

There is a somehow nostalgic inner garden that sets the tone for an unhurried stay, in keeping with the registered cultural property buildings.

Yes, the main building, which retains its appearance from the inn's founding in 1925, and the attached buildings are registered national tangible cultural properties, with the dignity and nostalgia of an earlier age.

Irago Onsen is a weakly alkaline spring known as a beauty bath. Guests praise the way the skin feels smooth after bathing, and it can also be enjoyed in the rooms with their own open-air bath.
