Yes. The Formal Kimono Course teaches how to wear formal kimono such as homongi and tsukesage, as well as the obi otaiko knot with fukuro obi.
Is it possible to take only single lessons?
Yes, single lessons are available. They can be used to improve specific techniques such as the collar adjustment, or to review your overall fitting.
I learned kimono dressing at a different school before. Can I start mid-course?
Yes, we welcome those who wish to refresh their skills. The Kimono Fitting Basics Course or single lessons can be used to review your current fitting. Our instructors will tailor the instruction to address each person's individual needs.

Yes, we offer the Kimono Fitting Basics Course, which is ideal for beginners. You will master both casual and formal styles, and we will teach you carefully from the start.

What courses are available?
We offer three courses: the Kimono Fitting Basics Course (both casual and formal), the Casual Kimono Course (komon and tsumugi with nagoya obi otaiko knot), and the Formal Kimono Course (homongi and tsukesage with fukuro obi otaiko knot), as well as single lessons.

Do you teach not just how to wear kimono, but also posture and deportment?
Yes, we provide instruction on beautiful posture and bearing when wearing kimono, including proper standing and walking. We teach you not just the mechanics of dressing, but guide you carefully so you can go out with refined and dignified kimono wearing.

Can I ask questions during the lesson if I'm unsure about something?
Yes, since these are one-on-one lessons, you can ask questions about anything you don't understand as they arise. We provide an environment where you can practice at your own pace in a calm setting.
Are lessons one-on-one? Do you also offer group lessons?
Our classroom specializes in private one-on-one lessons. However, we can also accommodate pairs of friends taking lessons together (we have experience with casual kimono courses and similar arrangements).

What is the instructor like? Do they have qualifications?
Instruction is provided by Kazumi Rizu. She holds the following qualifications: Advanced Master Instructor and Grade 1 Kimono Dressing Instructor certified by the All Japan Kimono Promotion Association; Kimono Consultant certified by the All Japan Kimono Consultant Association; and Master Instructor of the Japan Wasouku Association. She has previous experience as an instructor and sales staff at major kimono schools before establishing her independent practice.
